Mother Nature Viridi

Upon browsing Kid Icarus: Uprising fan art, I decided there was too little of it for Viridi. 

After painting her, I think I know why.  Details, details, details, gaaaagh!  She's about as bad as Palutena on that, actually.  By far, the easiest main characters for this game to draw are Pit and Dark Pit - and they have a lot of details, too.  

I like how this turned out save for one thing:  I cannot seem to be effective at drawing or painting child-characters. When I try, my hand winds up aging them up a bit - so Viridi looks slightly older than I wanted her to look.  

Acrylic paint with a background in tea-stain (a combination of Lipton black tea and this fancy strawberry white tea I have on hand).  Yes, I waste food on art sometimes.  Accented by Pilot fine ball-pen.  The reason for the wolf and the deer "ghosts" are because I whenever I think of "spirits of the wild" or of the forest, my mind turns to deer, and they needed a predatory presence to balance the cycles of nature, hence the wolf.  There are little insects and, of course, some of Viridi's grunt-troops.  

This was fun to paint.   


(I cannot tell you how much I hate DA's new hashtag system for labeling art.  She is Viridi, not "viridianforest." Urgh)!
