An experiment of mine - dried maple leaves steeped in hot water like a tea, and that "tea" spread and splashed on watercolor paper.

I was hoping to get an interesting color. It really turned out like a standard tea stain, with maybe a little more yellow.

Free to public use. You do not have to feel obligated to tell me if you use it.

Do you think it would work with other plants and flowers from my backyard? Also, what color watercolor paper did you use?

*Thinks* I believe that was Strathmore, cold-press. It was seriously old paper, too, scavenged from an attic where it was forgotten about for years, so who knows if its particular grade can be found anymore...

As for using stuff from your backyard, I say experiment! That's how I find interesting stains.
